Nightblooms & Paradise Motel Lounge - Weekend Coffee

I plunked down my last dollar at the bar last night, I spent it on tequila and Tecate

Now I’m fishing coins out of every jar in sight to pay for a cup of my weekend coffee

It’s the first that I want but it’s the last thing that I need

Im gonna stretch that comfort out of every bean

When nothing’s going right for me there’s nothing wrong with sitting home

And nursing on my weekend coffee

Like an old, stubborn bull my coffee ain’t got milk

but it’s just as strong cuz I like to drink it black

And no matter what this world is gonna pour on me,

well I’m gonna sit right here and pour it back

It’s the first thing that I want but it’s the last thing that I need

Cold comfort in a hot cup is such a dream

When nothing’s going right for me there’s nothing wrong with sitting home

And sippin’ on my weekend coffee

I’m looking for some answers and I’m looking to save some face

I can’t believe what I’ve done to me

But if every last decision lead me to this place, it’s also lead to weekend coffee

It’s the first thing that I want but it’s the last thing that I need

Just drowning my regrets, old Joe and me

Cause nothing’s going right it seems

but there’s nothing wrong with the same old song I’m singing ‘bout my weekend coffee
